Having booked me to photograph their wedding in November 2016, Gemma & Jay also wanted an engagement shoot to get used to being in front of the camera. Not only that but it was also nice to spend a little time getting to know each other before their big day.
Jay proposed to Gemma in Iceland I thought it would be lovely to create engagement images that were sentimental of their time and experiences there.
One thing that stood out for both Gemma & Jay were the waterfalls in Iceland, so I decided to research the best waterfalls in England as a potential location for the engagement shoot. After looking at various waterfalls around the UK I felt that Ingleton Falls, Yorkshire would be the best location for the shoot.
Amongst the trail there are several different sets of falls which create beautiful backdrops for images. However the best waterfall is saved until last; right at the top of the trail is a fantastic waterfall called Thornton Force. This waterfall comes crashing down 50ft into a rocky pool and amongst that rocky pool is a huge square boulder which provided the most perfect photo opportunity!
We spent a whole day there and only managed to cover half of the trail, so i’m hoping to get back there real soon and explore the other half!
