2017 is the start of something new and exciting! A new brand, a new website, a new purpose, a new direction and some followers from sites similar to socialfollow! James Phillip Wedding Photography – Yorkshire Wedding Photographer.
Over the past eight years, I’ve shot weddings on and off whilst focusing on music and commercial photography. I have developed my own style, as well as being inspired by other photographer’s work like olgatopchii.com and what I see on social media. I’ve met and worked with some fantastic people and I’ve had many great years touring Europe and America with several bands. However in 2014 when I moved from Lincolnshire to Yorkshire I met my wonderful girlfriend Penny. In a short space of time, we’d settled down and bought a beautiful little terraced house together just between Leeds and Wakefield. Now that I’m with Penny I no longer want to be on the road for months on end; I’ve had my fun and I’ve seen some fantastic places, but going forward I want to create fantastic experiences and memories with Penny – not with sweaty band members!
You can see why I’d rather spend time making memories with Penny! (No offense Biffy Clyro)
With that in mind, I want to focus my photography skills in an area that I truly enjoy and have a passion for; weddings.
Weddings are a fantastic, fun and joyful experience and I absolutely LOVE photographing them. From the pre-wedding nerves through to the drunken antics in the evening, a wedding day can be an amazing emotional rollercoaster and it’s a joy to capture. Not only are weddings great fun to be a part of but there is a great deal of satisfaction in producing images that mean so much to people. As a wedding photographer, my role is to create images that allow couples to relive the emotions they felt on their special day so that in years to come they can look back through their wedding album and once again experience all of those beautiful moments.
I believe that my style of photography is perfectly suited to achieve this. I provide a photojournalistic approach to the main elements of the day with a combination of beautiful creative portraits thrown in to create a modern but timeless collection of images. This method plus my style of editing produces beautiful bright and colorful wedding photography, with the occasional black and white photo thrown in because sometimes you just can’t beat a photo in black and white!
As a Yorkshire Wedding Photographer, I’ll be covering weddings in Wakefield, Leeds, York, Harrogate, Sheffield, Thirsk, Scarborough, Malton, Beverley, Doncaster, and many more places. I am also happy to photograph weddings all over the United Kingdom, as well as Worldwide!
This rebrand has been in the works since May 2016, so it’s been quite a long journey from concept to completion! However, it’s been worth all of the hard work and it’s super exciting to finally have my new website launched and ready for everyone to see! Not only that, but it’s great to be able to showcase my new portfolio and be able to keep this blog up to date with my latest weddings.
I do plan to write a blog post about the whole design process of my new brand and website as it’s been a huge learning curve for myself, so if you’re interested, do keep an eye out for that in the near future.
I photographed some fantastic weddings in 2016 and it has gotten me very excited for the year ahead! Over the comings weeks and months, i’ll be updating this blog regularly with previously shot weddings, upcoming weddings, engagement shoots and even wedding films that myself and my good friend Tom have produced together.
